Hello Investigators. By now you've all had a small taste of what's on the way in the upcoming Kickstarter project. Some of you have already had the honor of speaking with Mr. Constantine, a patron of mine who commissioned me for some work with the Whateley Memorial House. If you haven't yet got started, be sure to email Mr. Constantine. His address is w.i.constantine@gmail.com. He will provide you all the info you need to begin. What you're likely wondering is how all this fits into the project, and how it effects it's outcome. During the course of the project, on certain dates, at midnight (in certain timezones) a very special pledge level will become available. This pledge level (13$) will earn it's lucky recipient everything created during the project including shipping anywhere in the world. Now you could just check the page at the top of every hour of the day for 30 days or, you could play along with us and be a part of a Kickstarter experience unlike any other. The entire project, when it is revealed, will be run as a media spanning Altered Reality Game. Wherein clues regarding artwork releases, stretch goals, pledge levels and release times for The Chosen pledges can be uncovered. Additionally some of our stretch goals, most notably those that will be freely available for everyone at certain pledge levels, will ONLY be unlockable by our intrepid investigators. Through their diligence everyone who supports the project will get a very tangible benefit. I stress this is not a contest, rather a (hopefully) entertaining way for our community to create, interact, and have a good time together. **"How will I know I'm on the right track?"** First: Use The Whateley House Forums, located here. There will be information regarding investigations and other useful information. whateleyhouse.freeforums.net/Clues are like leaves. They move, then settle, and sometimes they are buried. But in this case, when you have found something of note. There will be a leaf present. Either textually, or perhaps hidden in an image. Every investigation will reach a point where Mr. Constantine must become involved, or at least his surrogates. So that your progress can be tracked. Feel free to ask for help, and guidance. Just don't expect to always be given the truth. After all what fun would that be? When you have found the goal of an investigation, it will bear a particular symbol. Always the same one, either hidden or plainly visible somewhere in the media in which it has been found. This will both tell the good people helping run the game that the objective has been uncovered (thus unlocking an investigatorial stretch goal) or tell you the date to be watching for The Chosen pledge level to become available. Good hunting Dear Investigators. Our hopes go with you.

Thought we could analyze some of Shane's art. On facebook, Brandon noted that the yellow stone matches what Sarah posted on her blog (found a package with a yellow stone on her bed). A link to this art was also posted in the "leaves" thread, for obvious reasons. Looks like Cthulhu to me...

The problem with this mystery stuff is it brings my obsessive detail nitpickyness right to the surface. Like, that butterfly/moth and those coins seem so out of place and why is there coffee and a donut on the desk instead of brandy and ... like a cigar? Also, is that blood on the manuscript?

Yeah, but considering Shane is into obsessive detail with his art, and he's the one who drew this... I think those observations are TOTALLY in line. I was wondering about the butterfly/moth too... and the coins/buttons/seals (I don't know what they are supposed to be...yet).

the coffee and donut seem to imply a policeman/ detective or maybe coroner's desk? also the leaf being on the scroll seems to mark it important. and so for all of the pictures have creepy crawly tentacles....

A coroner's desk? like Mr Leif perhaps? What really caught my eye was the script on the pages... some seems to pop put... i was wondering if it might be useful in some way

Ok, here is my take on the pic. **Bottom right, a ring of iron looking keys... we can see at least 2 What do they open?**Green suit jacket over leather chair doesn't seem to be particularly remarkable, but looks more like a mans jacket to me
**Top left a set of drawers, painted blue/white? also, a set of 4 books, arranged from largest to smallest, seem to be thick Whose room? Dr C or Hatterson? both academic types and male, as well as being in fields devoted to organization/preservation of knowledge
**table bottom right , green lamp providing light to an antique looking fancy pen and paper, secured with a paperclip. it appears that the papers have a signature on it, and some papers were scattered on the floor. A white moth is attracted to the light What is the purpose of the signed paper? what does the moth symbolize? **two silvery coins (appx quarter size) , steaming coffee cup (reflecting the lamp), doughnut with 1/8 cut out of it and its accompanying crumbs this evidence implies that this was examined recently, but by whom? Meatiest part... We have a scroll, with what appears to be our favorite squid buddy in the center. The scroll rolls onto an ornate sqiddy thing. there is blood on the scroll, and on the table, implying that whoever was examining it came to harm while using it. the leaf seems to be blood free, so we don't know if it was from before or after the blood. what interests me most is the script to the right of cthulu's head, since it seems to be more sharp than the rest... could it be significant? The insect in amber has no particular geometric shape, and was also mentioned by Sarah, so this could be somehow related to her. Insect his hug, and looks vaguely antlike, or perhaps wasplike? leaf appears to be a maple leaf in fall colors

the jacket seems tweed to me, academic types wear tweed... coffee and doughnut are classic cop, white moth/ butterfly might represent the white lady? coins are maybe charms/ pendants ? imo the room looks a little sparse for an academic, and definitely not posh enough for dr. c

We can say that a person was recently in the room since the coffee is steaming, I dont understand why the blood is on that side of the scroll? Since if the person was sitting down on that chair examining the scroll and was attacked the blood would be nearer the chair?

I didn't want us to miss this artwork as well, seeing as how it's all dark and creepy with glowing eyes and a car and tree in the background. It would seem like this is an outdoor shot, that the brick on the right is some building, the molding probably for a door, and a nice classic car and garden against another building is in the back.

@thomas Blood is often used to strengthen magic. Like pricking your finger with a pin. Perhaps the few drops came from something ritualistic? Therefore the drops of blood could be non-violent, of malevolent nature while also belonging to the person who was at the desk himself since he extended his hand (trying not to get blood on his scroll) before extracting blood. Since there are no signs of a struggle I think this makes it likely.
