The codex has been retrieved and burned. It will probably return again in 50-100 years. Pudding.

W. Vega has stated that the codex was once destroyed by a rival cult by burning down the home of a previous sect of the Church of Starry Wisdom. Intelligence reports that there was a sect in San Francisco that was destroyed by arson - I do not have names or dates associated with this event.
Vega also stated that the museum collection that contains the codex was named after the son of a founder of the cult - the only founding name I have is old Enoch Bowen.
1) Do you know of any other founders that may be associated with the San Francisco sect, or 2) Any info on a museum collection named after Enoch Bowen or any of his line?

Constantine, How can the team aid in finding the Codex before the Haunter does?

Update: A couple of us have engaged Pastor Vega via his twitter account and named him. He has confirmed that he is the Haunter of the Dark - avatar of Nyarlathotep. However, I feel that we are rather blindly committing ourselves to this creature by professing our readiness to accept him in order to gain information. This cannot end well.
Update: In order to be made of use to the Chuch, Vega is asking for "offerings". Given his desire for artifacts, this is an opportunity to draw out and banish the Haunter if W is willing to help with appropriate bait...

W.
So, from the great work above, and the access gained to the Church of Starry Wisdom page, that they worship Azathoth and seek the codex.
My research on the subject of Azathoth puts him at the center of the universe ruling over the Outer Gods, one of which was Nyarlathotep whose resurrection we foiled in the case of the stolen urn. However, Nyarlathotep has been known to use several avatars, and the modus operandi is suspicious.
"...he wanders the earth, seemingly gathering legions of followers...through his demonstrations of strange and seemingly magical instruments."
Does this not sound like a church figurehead with a focus on collecting historical relics? I believe that Pastor Dan Vega may actually be an avatar of Nyarlathotep, and he seeks to bring Azathoth to this world.

W. We've had new contact from Seamus from inside. A member of clergy going by the name Father Dan Vega has been attending group therapy sessions. Seamus has been able to send out a few messages, warning that this guy was also looking for the orb you reclaimed.
We've made contact with Father Vega, but he's being very closed with information regarding his congregation.

New message from Seamus tonight. "Don't worry. They can't see me, I've got my eyes shut. Be ready. It's happening again. I need to get out of the office before they get back, but your old buddy Seamus will be back later.
Stay frosty, Seamus McMann"

W. Allow me to explain our course of actions in this latest case. Frankly the investigative group is experiencing a growing level of mistrust in your intentions. We've noticed that the artifacts related to the cases we have been working on for you tend to disappear into your private holdings suddenly, with little or no explanation, and no oversight in what is done with them. No one person should have exclusive keeping of such dangerous and influential objects. Additionally, we believe you have yet to disclose the nature of your plans for these artifacts.
Altruism is fine, but we've been made suspicious of your activity. Seamus' case in particular is worth mentioning. That case closed abruptly with a paper thin explanation which you have now contradicted. At the time you stated that Seamus suffered from stress and possibly exposure to a psychotropic drug and subsequently committed to Arkham. With what we have all uncovered previously, we know this was not the case. You yourself have now admitted to Cassandra that it was exposure to the artifact that drove him mad.
For these reasons we elected not to trust your motives and mostly excluded you from our discussions and interactions with Cassandra regarding her grandfathers artifacts. We believe what she holds will be safe with her. The protections keeping the artifacts from the EOD are intact, and we are making a strong recommendation to Cassandra that she continue to keep them and protect their secret as her grandfather did.
I believe that with a bit more transparency, our joint investigations can proceed on a more trusting foot.

elim, We believe we may have deciphered the clue, and have dropped some thoughts on it over to Cassandra on her FB page. If you have a solution other than what we've come up with though, feel free to drop her a line there as well. There are some recent and intriguing updates there this morning. Here's a link to the FB group if you want to join in the combined efforts there. www.facebook.com/groups/470605089687941/

Cassandra's grandfathers name was Charleston Winters, professor of archaeology focusing on ancient Greece and other cultures.
Also, Inv. Lisa K. noted "The Minoan found in the Lovecraft story hunter of the dark."

Opening information: A young lady by the name Cassandra Lakatos has posted on Shane Tyree Art Stuio FB page regarding his art, and it's similarity to some art that she has uncovered while sifting through here recently deceased grandfather's study. M has noted that he was once acquainted with the late Mr. Lakatos.
Contact has been made with Cassandra through her FB page as we begin a dialogue with her.
A few items of note Cassandras FB page indicates her roots are in Turkey - The Greek island of Crete, once home to the Minoan empire, is just off the coast. Her profile image is of a Trojan Horse, known to have been used by the Greeks to enter and sack the city of Troy, once located in what is now Turkey.

W. It seems a miss Cassandra Lakatos is turning up some interesting things in her grandfather's study. Were you acquainted with a Mr. Lakatos at one time? I'm attempting to contact her to see if she would care to share any details of what she's found.

We're still picking up the pieces, but this case has come to a sudden conclusion this afternoon. Seamus and the thief are in the sanitarium, W. has the stolen orb, and we don't really know any details on exactly what went down. We should work on getting Seamus' Google+ posts and replies archived here for all to read.

Beginning with the initial information forwarded from Seamus, who is focusing on ZZ Top at the Twin River Casino this weekend, I located a tavern nearby called L A Baileys that hosts card leagues (poker) and a guy can get a drink. This satisfies the two criteria given, but may be a false lead as I don't have anything else specific pointing to this location. I also supplied him with a general list of other establishments to check out in the nearby area.
Sounds like people may have hit upon something else, such as a mob connection, but I've no idea what that connection is.
If you have other clue, information, or thoughts, please share them. Thanks!

Are we perhaps looking at an artifact of Yig, Father of Serpents? Hard-boiled Seamus may not buy into it, but those that were at the Mausoleum last night know this funky stuff is happening.
Edit: Seamus' comment regarding the spam mail (A reptile dysfunctions) supports the theory.

I've sent Seamus a list of likely hangouts in the area of the Twin River, along with one solid lead that hosts card league games; he's following up on them this morning. We should also be seeing a sketch of the stolen item later today.

The first thing that comes up for me is the Twin River Casino just up the road in Lincoln. Not sure if that is provincial enough though. Seems to be a lot of nightlife centered around the University of Rhode Island Providence campus though, just off the river.

My suspicion lies with Detective Mendez. He is the only other person either on scene that night, or present at Hatterson's autopsy that is unaccounted for besides Leif. Unfortunately Constantine has been unable to contact him, and his attempts to do so brought the result posted above.
Constantine states that of the pottery collection that was received, a small urn is missing, yet no such urn was sent. The artifact may be of significance, but any information regarding the markings or origin are suspect. Barring any other information, I would focus on finding Detective Mendez, but we have no new intel on him beyond what has already been tried.
Has anyone tried to contact Lief again recently?

Hold up, "custodian Tuan-Yo Rui"? Tuan-Yo is the name of the emperor that is supposedly marked on the Urn.

Presuming the urn actually exists (and currently we have no reason to doubt Constantine's word) this suggests that the urn wasn't actually part of the Shanghai collections, and somehow made it's way in between China and New York.

I tried a different tactic when e-mailing Sam Leif and got this reply: It was only natural that autopsies that odd would be noticed and have to be double checked. Where did the organs go? She didn't even have a mark on her. It's not the first time you've done this. they will all die if you do it again. Don't follow the Pharaoh. He's not real. We're following the pharaoh, the pharaoh, the pharaoh, we're following the pharaoh where ever he may go I go, you go, mi-go, we go free down in death we follow the first thirteen It's already my head head shoulders knees and toes knees and toes leave me alone just stop If any of this can be taken seriously, this is the first mention of a female victim with missing organs, further suggesting that there have been others besides Dr. Hatterson. We know the missing urn was found in the tomb of the Egyptian queen, and the missing organs suggest at least a tenuous connection to rituals of mummification. And now Leif rants about a Pharoh.. Also, even though this is obviously a deranged rant, I find the phrase 'mi-go' of particular interest. And the 'first thirteen'? Could be nothing but it seems rather pointed in my opinion. Nothing in the way of facts here, leaving plenty of room for speculation :/

Aside from Leif's slipping grip on coherence, a couple of things about this have been running through my head. First, Rance is the ME that did the autopsy on Hatterson. Where is he and can we contact him? Additionally, Leif's first message said that Rance did the autopsy on all three bodies from the crime scene; however, we've only seen report of one. Who are the other two victims and were they also at the museum? Finally, Hatterson's autopsy notes that Autopsy Assistants Joe Graff, Photographer Tim Duncan, Detective Jose Mendez of the New York Police Department were all present. Can we contact them?
Might be worth bouncing all of these around for some leads.
Update: Well, no luck bouncing this off of Mr. Constantine. Dr Rance may not be a complete dead end - another approach may be in order, or we'll have to wait for things to develop further.

Stream of thought here - Ok, so if the Lyon family was once worshipers of Shub-Niggurath, it seems logical that the family would have rituals or callings at their disposal to aid in the fertility of Anna in an attempt to secure their political future, but something may have gone wrong or come at a cost they weren't prepared for. If Anna is the White Lady, then she could be either directly tied to Shub-Niggurath via this pact and therefor an agent of the diety, or a byproduct of it's actions. A haunt seeking to replace the child/children stolen from her. The wet spots by the beds of the recently kidnapped children would tie those incidents to the spirit from the lake. I would be that forensic comparison of that water would match it to that of the lake if it were possible to do so.
Regarding the amber that Sarah has - could it be possible that this is some fossilized child of Shub-Niggurath that it seeks to reclaim? It doesn't explain who brought it to her, or why...
Perhaps she just needs to return it to its mother.
